Students at Lutheran South Academy participate regularly in religion classes and chapel, not only as worshippers, but also as worship leaders. The chapel band, made up entirely of high school students, regularly leads the music portion of the chapel services. Retreats give students time to grow closer to their classmates and their Lord. One of the main objectives of the religion program at LSA is that graduates become active, sharing members of Christian congregations around the world and that they provide a Christian witness by the way they live their lives.
Religion classes give students an opportunity to talk openly about their faith and ask questions in a caring environment. All courses are Bible based and are taught by the faculty at LSA. Ninth grade students spend their time learning Old and New Testament principles. Upper class students are involved in courses that change every several weeks and are more relational in nature. Service projects and community outreach round-out the spiritual growth of the students.
